Overview
ZeiCoin and Ocelot Wallet are open source projects. ZeiCoin is available under the MIT License and Ocelot Wallet is available under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). The ZeiCoin name, Ocelot Wallet name, and associated branding are protected trademarks.
What is Open Source
ZeiCoin is released under the MIT License. Ocelot Wallet is released under the GNU GPL-3.0 License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the code subject to the terms of each respective license.
What is Protected
The following are protected trademarks:
- The name "ZeiCoin"
- The ZeiCoin logo and visual identity
- The name "Ocelot Wallet"
- The Ocelot Wallet logo and visual identity
- Related branding and trade dress
Permitted Uses
You may use the ZeiCoin name and branding to:
- Refer to the official ZeiCoin project
- Link to zeicoin.com or the official GitHub repository
- Discuss, review, or write about ZeiCoin
- Run unmodified ZeiCoin software
- Indicate compatibility with ZeiCoin (for example, "Works with ZeiCoin")
Prohibited Uses
You may not use the ZeiCoin name and branding to:
- Create confusingly similar cryptocurrency projects
- Imply official endorsement of your project or service
- Create fake websites, wallets, or services claiming to be ZeiCoin
- Register domain names containing "ZeiCoin" for competing services
- Use the ZeiCoin branding in a way that misleads users
Forks and Derivatives
If you fork the ZeiCoin codebase, you must use a different name and branding to avoid confusion. You may mention "Based on ZeiCoin" or "Fork of ZeiCoin" to indicate the origin, but the project must have its own distinct identity.
